The Purchase of a Laptop
This is the time when I bought my first laptop. Well, on a Black Friday sale like at around midnight, my mom, dad, sister, and I went to Fry’s Electronics to purchase a laptop for myself. I was 17 years old and I really wanted a laptop because I needed it for my school work, and the price was really low I believe it was around $200. I’m not talking about just any laptop; I am talking about a HP 2000-219DX Notebook PC. This laptop has all the features you need in the everyday life of a student. So now back to the purchasing part. When I got to the store, there was a massive line ahead of me, full of people with their tents and sleeping bags and other survival needs, such as food, blankets, and hot cocoa. They all looked aggressive because they had been there for hours some men and some woman looked as if they had not showered in a month; some people were asleep in their tents, sleeping bags, in their chairs, and even on the floor.
I had lost all hopes of purchasing the laptop, I even told my parents that we were not going to make It so the best option was to go home, and rest. To make it worse, a tall, bald man came out of the store and said, “We have a limited amount”. Everybody in the line became angry, including me. I did not want to leave the store empty-handed. I was there for a purpose, and I was not going to let a bunch of people get my laptop. The people in the line started making their strategies on how they were going to get what they had gone for. I do not think that they were there to lose. I was not too excited.

After what the tall, bald man had said, I did not know what to do, I really needed the laptop. A couple of minutes later, I saw one of my friends from school at the front of the line. I could barely see him through the big, sweaty, and sticky crowd that seemed that way because everybody was bunched up and the only way of using a restroom was by using a portable restroom. I then later cut the line with the help of my friend. As soon as I cut the line, the doors to the store were opened, so I ran with all my might over to the laptop section. I grabbed the laptop I had wanted all along. I felt relieved.
After I checked the box to make sure it was the correct laptop, I ran straight to the cash register to pay for the brand new laptop. Unfortunately, there was another massive line to purchase items. They have many lanes available, yet they only used four. I began to read the box of the laptop to see what features it had, and how many accessories were in the box, I found out that it came with the charger, the laptop itself, and an installation disk for the people new to this computer. The box was made out of cardboard and it had some writing in the front with a black quote. The inside was full of packing peanuts, and bubble wrap. Now, I was excited.

Later, when we arrived to our house, I was extremely excited to try out my brand new HP laptop for the first time. I opened the cardboard box carefully like as if a doctor was performing a surgery on someone. After I opened the box, I took out the beast out of its cave. I felt the sleek, smooth, yet shiny and rugged design on my hands.
All of it was grey with some black on it. It was not heavy but light. It felt soft to my fingers. I was really excited now. I finally put my finger over the chrome button that read “on/off”, I was so close and then all of a sudden, I pressed the button and it was Alive. I installed it to my preferred setting and used it for a while, when I realized that I had made a very excellent purchase that night.
I showed my parents and my sister everything that it could do and they were as impressed as I was. I started doing some homework right-a-way because I had an essay that was due the next day. And that is when I knew I was ready to do my work in style.
